Bob Nelson
Senior ConsultantBob Nelson is an accomplished senior electronics manufacturing executive that includes 16 years of multi-functional executive assignments in product development, manufacturing, sales and business acquisition and integration.
His experience includes 10 years of P&L responsibility as President of North American divisions of European manufacturing companies.
The majority of his career has been with small to mid-size global electronic manufacturers serving a variety of industries including computers&peripherals, instrumentation, sensors&controls, rubber & plastics, telecommunications, industrial electronics, contract manufacturing and retail point-of-sale.
He has served in several international general management and senior leadership roles, turning around underperforming subsidiaries while expanding product lines and markets to secure top and bottom line growth.
Much of his senior executive experience has been gained through organizations that have embarked upon global manufacturing expansion in response to business environments characterized by rapid technology changes, compressed product life cycles, shortened time to market and unrelenting pressure on profit margins.
He has developed a reputation as a turnaround specialist who leads high performance teams and forms long-term relationships with technology developers, suppliers, shareholders and customers.

As a management consultant since 2006, examples of Bob’s ability to create value with one client was organizational structure assessment to improve profitability through increased use of outsourcing of key technical skills and recommending key management changes. He was instrumental as a sales team member that closed a new account representing 15% of 2006 annual revenue.
Prior to becoming a consultant, Bob was President of Preh Electronics, a $15M manufacturer of computer input devices for global markets. Within 10 months, a substantial prior year operating loss was reversed, achieving above plan profitability and a 3X improvement in cash flow. Sales were increased 60% in the second year through new products and customer expansion.
Bob’s experience includes 13 years with Key Tronic Corporation, a $200M international contract manufacturer of a variety of computer electronic devices. As Vice President Engineering, one of many highlights included collaborating with private equity group company owner/CEO and the Board in the development of 10 new products in 2-year period that yielded $300 million over the next 4 years.
Bob has been a career long supporter of the American Electronics Association and currently serves on the executive committee of the Midwest chapter of AeA, the largest association of high-tech companies in the United States.
He also is active in his local church, serving in youth activities and community support services roles.
Bob holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from California Polytechnic State University.
Additionally, he has completed numerous executive management and business improvement programs, including Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training.
